Los grandes cuerpos teóricos y epistémicos, en mayor medida en las ciencias sociales, pueden entenderse como multiformes
y heterogéneos, al tiempo que este nuevo formato aleja la noción de paradigma como esquema de referencia. La abundante y
variada información de la que disponemos en los tiempos que corren nos obliga a repensar su modo de elaboración y análisis.
Existen en la actualidad áreas del conocimiento social que generan un caudal de datos tan complejo y reactualizable que,
difícilmente, un formato de investigación tradicional permita abarcarlos con una lógica de sentido.
El desafío que nos impone este nuevo escenario direcciona los esfuerzos a la articulación, tanto teórica como de los procesos
disciplinares que llevó a la compartimentación; después de décadas y hasta siglos, esos mismos espacios comienzan a
establecer otras demandas para proceder hacia instancias de avances genuinos.

En este contexto, el Programa de Investigación Sociohistórica se asienta en la certeza de que Historia y Sociología son
herramientas imprescindibles, necesitándose de su articulación y retroalimentación para comprender y explicar los
fenómenos sociales en una nueva y mayor complejidad, si la comparamos con periodos pretéritos. Por tanto, el desarrollo de
esta línea de investigación contribuye a la construcción de un cuerpo de conocimientos con mayores niveles de complejidad.
abordan diferentes problemáticas de nuestra provincia y región; paralelamente, la segunda carrera de sociología más antigua
investigaciones sobre temáticas que contienen como esquema básico la mirada sociohistórica.
Precisamente, la elección de este posicionamiento teórico-epistemológico, con el agregado de la lógica integradora que
implica un Programa de Investigación, permite profundizar, expandir y complejizar la abundante información reportada
desde los distintos proyectos de investigación que participan de ella. Al tiempo que responde a la necesidad imperiosa de
miradas y producciones a etapas históricas trascendentales. En este sentido, los mismos contenidos y análisis pueden resultar
productivos para comprender el presente en su relación inescindible con el pasado.
Los fundamentos que aquí se resumen dan cuenta del propósito que el programa encierra: consolidar la línea de trabajo
iniciada, como ya dijimos, casi dos décadas atrás, poniendo en valor el conocimiento acumulado hasta el momento al tiempo
que promueve la formación de recursos humanos y genera acciones de participación y difusión en diferentes ámbitos
académicos.
