This has been extensively problematized by now iconic authors such as Donna Haraway from the scientific field or María Lugones from a decolonial stance, to name just a few. In the case of the former, for example, we particularly consider her comments about the role of the "modest witness" (Haraway, 2004) in science. And this resonance here has to do with the problematization of the objectivity and/or neutrality of scientific knowledge. This, with respect to the sex-gender dimension, is not only a problem of "women" in science, but also of who is considered legitimate subjects of knowledge and what knowledge is proposed as valuable.
Carli Prado Copyright (c) https://ojs.unsj.edu.ar/index.php/trazos/article/view/1400 Mon, 07 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Afro-Philosophising In Nuestra America. Notes For A Dissident Epistemology https://ojs.unsj.edu.ar/index.php/trazos/article/view/1403
The proliferation of Eurocentrism, as a product of modernity and the coloniality of power, has contributed to the erasure and denial of the knowledge of subjects considered subaltern, including the forms of knowledge produced by Afro-descendant peoples and communities. Nevertheless, despite their exclusion, many of these Afro knowledges still persist and resist oblivion through their constitution as dissident epistemologies. In line with this, the present work seeks to recover certain contributions stemming from Afro epistemologies, while also promoting their relational and archipelagic articulation.
Francisco Octavio Lopez Lopez Copyright (c) https://ojs.unsj.edu.ar/index.php/trazos/article/view/1403 Mon, 07 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Epistemology Of Silence: A Critical Reading From Feminism And Ecology https://ojs.unsj.edu.ar/index.php/trazos/article/view/1404
In the context of feminist epistemologies, theorists such as Avtar Brah, Donna Haraway and Silvia Rivera have developed epistemological critiques of knowledge based on the concept of experience. Thus, for example, Brah (2011) points out that this concept challenges the fixed categories of identity and difference, while Haraway (1995) emphasizes its relational and positioned character, thus positing forms of multispecies collaboration. Silence understood from the new feminist materialisms is defined as a virtual materiality or quasimatter, which prevents its identification with nothingness and absence. Based on the above, this article proposes to think the experience of silence as an experience of indeterminacy that tensions the intelligibility of situated knowledge. In this framework, the proposal problematizes the disposition to indeterminate knowledge and establishes the experience of silence as a key to study in order to expose its inherent opacity, as well as to question the established discursive certainties.
Paz Esperanza Carreño Hernández Copyright (c) https://ojs.unsj.edu.ar/index.php/trazos/article/view/1404 Mon, 07 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 An Epistemology Of Dis-Enclosures In Working With Dream Archives https://ojs.unsj.edu.ar/index.php/trazos/article/view/1405
We propose a commitment to a dissident epistemology of disenclosures, grounded in work with dream archives during extreme circumstances (National Socialism, the pandemic, prison confinement, and the current political situation in Argentina). This epistemological praxis stands in contrast to the processes of enclosure that form the foundation of Western capitalist Modernity, beginning with land enclosure and extending to categories of race, gender, and class, as analysed by Silvia Federici in Caliban and the Witch. The Weberian scientist, in the role of the “modest witness,” exemplifies the practice of epistemic enclosure.
Political dreams that produce archives encourage the subversion of conventional epistemic divisions (subject-object, episteme-doxa, academiaactivism, interpretation-phenomenon, etc.) and invite us to follow their manifol transdisciplinary paths. Dream archives not only reflect the world around us, but also reveal the intrusion of social rumours into our private lives, weaving subtle shared spaces that actively dismantle the hierarchical dualisms still present within us.
Soledad Nívoli Copyright (c) https://ojs.unsj.edu.ar/index.php/trazos/article/view/1405 Mon, 07 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Women, Knowledge And Philosophy In Early Modern Period: An Alternative History https://ojs.unsj.edu.ar/index.php/trazos/article/view/1406
During the 20th century, feminist theories and social studies of science facilitated the revaluation of women’s roles in the construction of science and philosophy. These recent historiographical and philosophical studies provide ample evidence of the active participation of women in the production of philosophical-natural knowledge during this period. The aim of this article is to demonstrate how, through the developments in feminist history and philosophy of science, it has been possible to construct an alternative history of knowledge to that of the traditional canon. It is intended to show that by considering these advances and through the reading of women philosophers, it is possible to broaden our understanding of modern philosophy, including its diversity of themes, problems, and agents that have been rendered invisible throughout history.
María José Cardona Fuentes Copyright (c) https://ojs.unsj.edu.ar/index.php/trazos/article/view/1406 Mon, 07 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Punishment And Salvation: The Penalty As A Salvific Tool In Augustine Of Hippo https://ojs.unsj.edu.ar/index.php/trazos/article/view/1399
The article analyzes Augustine’s philosophical proposals on freedom and their relationship with criminal attribution, investigating the necessary elements for criminal responsibility and the role of both human and divine law in determining punishment. It questions whether punishment seeks the salvation of the offender’s soul, extending this purpose to the present day and reflecting on the constitutional assessment of punishment in current law. To this end, Augustine’s works, especially On Free Choice of the Will and City of God, are examined, exploring the connections between punishment and salvation through the Foucauldian method and the idea of Pastoral Power. The analysis includes technologies and power devices, highlighting the functions of the penal apparatus, allowing an exploration of how truths are constructed to support criminal discourses in the social fabric.
Maximiliano Santiago Almirón Copyright (c) https://ojs.unsj.edu.ar/index.php/trazos/article/view/1399 Mon, 07 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Edmund Husserl and Martin Heidegger: The Elementary Aspects of Two Different Paths in Phenomenology https://ojs.unsj.edu.ar/index.php/trazos/article/view/1402
This text pretends to expose the general aspects of different proposals of Edmund Husserl and Martin Heidegger about phenomenology. Firstly, Husserl´s
phenomenology is developed around logic, consciousness, the Self and the ἐποχή. Secondly, it shows how Heidegger constructs his hermeneutical phenomenology taking into account his initial reflections on logic, the different forms of relationship with the world, intentionality and das man. The fundamental purpose is to clarify what each philosophy consists of base don the concepts referred to.
Natalia González Henao Copyright (c) https://ojs.unsj.edu.ar/index.php/trazos/article/view/1402 Mon, 07 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000
