The purpose of this paper is to investigate the chronicles contained in the book La esquina es mi corazón (1995) by Pedro Lemebel and its relationship with the historical discipline as a modern discipline, based on the following questions: How can Pedro Lemebel's chronicle impact History as a discipline located in Latin America? What role did the official discourse of post-dictatorial Chile play in the experiences narrated in the chronicles? How do Lemebel's criticisms of official history affect the notion of the Archive?
To this end, the article is organized into two sections, in the first we have a brief description of the historical moment in which Chile was at the time of publication of the book and a selection of chronicles to exemplify both the themes addressed by the author throughout the book and the way in which the experiences of the margins narrated by Pedro Lemebel are described and developed. In the second part, based on the proposals of Mario Rufer and Michel De Certeau, the notion of the Archive and the limits of history are investigated to explore how Lemebel and his writing challenge these limits.
