Objects in transit, objects in dispute: The collections of Mexico's National Museum

She holds a Bachelor's and Doctorate in Anthropological Sciences from the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, University of Buenos Aires (FFyL-UBA). She works as an Independent Researcher for the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research at the Institute of Anthropological Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). She is an Associate Professor of Anthropological Sciences and a Full Professor of the postgraduate program in Museums, Cultural Transmission, and Management of Anthropological and Historical Collections at FFyLUBA. Using an ethnographic perspective that combines fieldwork and archival work, she researches patrimonialization processes, memories, and silences with Mapuche communities in the context of territorial claims in Argentine Patagonia. Her areas of interest focus on the study of patrimonialization policies for the knowledge and materialities of Indigenous daily and sacred life, ancestral restitution, subaltern memories, archives, museum and tourism exhibitions, and "conservation-development" dispossession policies within the framework of Mapuche territorial demands. She directs research projects on these topics and conducts outreach and transfer activities in state institutions and with Indigenous peoples. She is a member of the Anthropology of Culture and Heritage Team (EACUP), the Study Group on Altered and Subordinated Memories (GEMAS), and, since 2017, has been a member of the coordinating group of the Information and Discussion Network on Archaeology and Heritage (RIDAP). She also serves on the Academic Council of Memorias Disidentes: A Journal of Critical Studies of Heritage, Archives, and Memories.
