Abstract

The Unión Textiles Semillas (UTS) is fundamental to its members' gatherings, the regular meetings of their members to talk, weave, and share experiences. These gatherings consist of assemblies, workshops for exchanging knowledge and experiences, weaving fairs, and exhibitions of collective works. The collective works are defined in the assembly spaces, begin to be woven together, some travel through the territories of each group, grow, and take shape. Since 2024, these works have circulated within the art world, with the aim of generating work and raising funds to hold new gatherings that contribute to strengthening the bonds between the various women's organizations in Northwest Argentina that are part of the Union. Furthermore, the UTS builds connections and fosters relationships with governmental and educational institutions at different levels. At the end of July 2025, the UTS organized the “Mismear Assembly. A poetics of the expanded turn”, an open meeting for the public in the Calchaquí Valleys, in what are now the provinces of Tucumán and Catamarca.
