Author Biography

Mariana Petry Cabral, Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais. nanacabral75@gmail.com

Petry is Full Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil), working in the undergraduate programs in Archaeology, Anthropology, Social Sciences and Socio-environmental Sciences, as well as in the Graduate Programs in Anthropology (PPGAN-FAFICH) and in Built Environment and Sustainable Heritage (PACPS-School of Architecture). She has a degree in Social Communication (PUCRS) and History (UFRGS), a master's degree in History of Iberian and American Societies (PUCRS) and a PhD in Anthropology (UFPA). She was a visiting professor at the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World, Brown University (USA), as a CAPES/Print fellow in 2023. She was coordinator of the Archaeological Research Center of the Institute for Scientific and Technological Research of the State of Amapá (IEPA) between 2005 and 2016. She conducts research and publishes articles and book chapters on Amazonian Archaeology and Indigenous Archaeologies, with a special interest in collaborative practices and modes of knowledge construction beyond academic boundaries. She is a CNPq research productivity fellow (Pq-2).
