Entre pérdida y legado: los paisajes del descenso del lago de Pátzcuaro

Resumo

Este trabalho explora a dimensão cultural da mudança ambiental a partir do descenso do nível do lago de Pátzcuaro ocorrido na década de 1920, entendido como uma cena histórica que dialoga com a crise climática contemporânea. A análise articula-se em torno de uma questão central: que heranças —materiais, simbólicas ou afetivas— emergem quando a água recua e o que a recorrência deste fenômeno nos diz sobre os legados da mudança ambiental? Baseando-me nos conceitos de paisagem antroposcênica e história antecipatória proponho uma leitura do lago como um “arquivo estratificado” onde o recuo das águas reativa memórias, conflitos territoriais e narrativas de crise que ressoam com o presente. Através de documentos de arquivo, mapas e testemunhos da época examino como a emergência física de novas terras mobilizou tanto comunidades indígenas quanto o Estado pós-revolucionário, revelando tensões não resolvidas sobre a propriedade e o sentido de lugar. Ao vincular este episódio histórico com o descenso registrado em 2024 sugiro que a repetição desta “cena de deterioração” nos obriga a renegociar os valores que atribuímos à perda, mostrando que as paisagens de crise são também espaços onde persistem e se atualizam outras formas de habitar o território.

Jahzeel Aguilera Lara, Escola Nacional de Ciências da Terra, Universidade Nacional Autônoma do México (UNAM)

É professora associada "C" em tempo integral na Escola Nacional de Ciências da Terra da UNAM. É doutora em Geografia Humana pela Universidade de Nottingham, Reino Unido; mestre em Geografia, com especialização em Manejo Integrado da Paisagem, e bacharel em Ciências Ambientais pela UNAM, México. Seu trabalho acadêmico situa-se na interseção entre a geografia cultural e a história ambiental. Seus interesses incluem as relações entre Estado, natureza e nação; a história da conservação no México; e a relação entre memória e mudança ambiental. Integra o Sistema Nacional de Pesquisadores do México, no nível de candidata, e faz parte da diretoria da Sociedade Mexicana de História Ambiental. Atualmente, lidera o projeto PAPIIT IA300126 "Natureza, paisagem e nação no México pós-revolucionário" (2026–2028).
