From Merchandise Of Fetishism To Integrated Spectacular Power

Abstract
The inflence of the section on the fetishism of commodities in Marx has played a fundamental role in critical theory of the image. Walter Benjamin’s work on "The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction" and Guy De- bord's "The Society of the Spectacle" have been key texts revealing the secrets of the commodity's phantasmagoria in our contemporary world. The transforma- tion of the commodity into a spectacle has reached a point where our existence and social relations have been mediated by images, turning the true into a moment of the false. This research will address the fetishistic nature of commodities according to Marx, Benjamin's concept of technical reproducibility, and the latest studies on the society of the spectacle by Guy Debord, where the integrated spec- tacular power would emerge.
