The Concept Of Individual In Relation To The Uses Of Algorithms
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper proposes an ontological conception of the individual
based on the notion of algorithm, their implementation and their uses in daily life.
The aim is showing the ethical and political implications derived from the relation
between the individual and the algorithms. Considering the political and economic
framework of capitalism, it is proposed that the relationship between the individual
and the algorithm is reversed, causing a new ontology of the individual which
conceives this as an individual-as-a-product, with ethical implications which
directly affect the political aspects of the individual’s everyday life.
