THE REVELATION OF THE TRUTH THROUGH THE DIALECTICS BETWEEN FAITH AND REASON. AN ANALYSIS OF THE INTELLECTIVE PROPOSAL OF SAINT AGUSTINE
Main Article Content
Abstract
The purpose of this writing is to investigate the proposal intellective of St. Augustine and the role it plays in the entire cognitive process, that is, in his theory of illumination. To develop this objective, it is necessary to allude to certain passages of the Bible and identify certain ideals of Christianity, since through this doctrine the author carries out a philosophical exercise based on a theological foundation, which in turn is influenced by preliminary currents or lines of thought within which Neo-Platonism is found. In this order of ideas, it is intended to elucidate the process of understanding and revelation of the Truth, which is mediated by God, a perspective that will be analyzed with the help of later critical literature that explains the implications of his thought; for this, the historical context between Hellenism and the Middle Ages will be taken into account.
