UNIVERSITY AND PHILOSOPHY. THE UNIVERSITY STUDENT AS A HUMANIZING AGENT

Abstract

This paper addresses the figure of the university student as an educable social subject whose educational praxis is based on a practical humanism. It does so by establishing a philosophical analysis of the thematic field where the essence of the university is constituted. In this sense, it proposes a redefinition of the notion of university that attends to the grain outlined by the study and a ethos determined. Facing the neoliberal obstacles that degrade the humanistic intentionality of the university, the article tries to recover two elements in the conception of the university student. And it ends by warning, by virtue of the humanistic character of the university student, the importance of redefining the current meaning of the university without condition.
