Abstract
In this paper we intend to investigate the debate raised within the philosophy of science between realists and anti-realists. We will examine the argument known as the non-miracle argument , which seeks to establish realism as the only legitimate explanation for the success of science. In order to dismiss this claim, we will oppose it with three counter-arguments: the criticism of scientific realism that Larry Laudan makes in A Confutation of Convergent Realism; Bastiaan Van Fraassen's jungle plot of tooth and claw ; and the implications of the assumption of separability proposed by Paul Feyerabend.
