Abstract

In the present work the importance that poses the essay as a literary genre presenting the themes that explain, characterize and criticize the colonial historical heritage, inviting us to understand in order to constitute an epistemic, political, economic, legal and social revolution; and thereby open new paths to explore our own history from within. It is elementary to deconstruct and reconstitute history, in order to be able to discern the imposed colonial discourses from the very traces that our peoples made, make and remake. However, the various movements that made it possible to achieve the cultural autonomy of the 17th century will be considered, since the essay as a literary genre opens up a wide range of possibilities for the contributions of numerous authors, who will provide answers not only to the emergence of new Latin American thoughts , but also to the objective formations of our culture and possible identity, as well as being able to unmask the hidden roots, motivated by various factors, that the Eurocentric culture imposed on us with the conquest.
