Language, like the Library of Babel imagined by Borges, is "so enormous that any reduction of human origin is infinitesimal" (Borges, 1941, p. 3). For example, today it is understood that the imperfect uses made by the speakers are not errors or arbitrary, they are manifestations of the language that respond to an internal logic that has become necessary to reveal.
