Abstract

What is sex? is a book by Alenka Zupančič published only in English in 2017. It belongs to Short Circuits, a collection where she is the editor together with Mladen Dolar and Slavoj Žižek. We find it of great importance to visit the work of Alenka Zupančič for her skill in working with problems of our times. She is a Slovenian philosopher and theoretician of psychoanalysis who was responsible for making Lacan's theories widely known. In his book What is sex? takes a tour of the main topics in his area using a current language with philosophical relationships never seen before to give great validity to his production. To explain human behavior, it dissolves antagonisms and paradoxes within a broader framework such as desire, where even the unconscious has its structure.
