REVIEW FROM THE BOOK: VERGALITO ESTEBAN. LACLAU Y LO POLÍTICO. BUENOS AIRES: PROMETEO, 2016

Abstract

In this book, the author proposes a reading of the work of the Argentine philosopher Ernesto Laclau from a holistic approach of his fundamental categories, observing in depth the way in which these were built throughout of the different stages of his thought, from his earliest texts. Taking into account that the general reception of the Laclaunian corpus has emphasized mainly partial aspects of it, this approach seeks to contribute a global and original vision, critically deconstructing concepts with the object of finding its internal structuring, as well as its aporias and insufficiencies. The author also realizes that the prevailing readings of Laclau's philosophical contribution come from Marxist, feminist, poststructuralist and psychoanalytic. He announces, then, that his reading will take place in a phenomenological-hermeneutic key, inspired by the young Heidegger, with which he seeks to find an ontological and hermeneutic factor of the political in the theory of hegemony, and to elaborate from it a phenomenology of the political.
