Abstract

The initiative of Revista Trazos to carry out the dossier Critical Theory: Updates, folds and reformulations cannot be less than opportune if the current sieges of our America are considered. The unleashing of new ideas and new philosophical praxis is shown as an urgent task in which the call of Simón Rodríguez in American Societies whispers: «Either we invent or we err» (2016, p. 459). Of course, the content of a Dossier does not complete the demand for such a call, but, nevertheless, it can reaffirm the inventive horizon of all self-styled critical philosophy and show, consequently, its power to dismantle the civilizing discourses of an administered society.
